If you prefer using  natural alternatives to the chemicals DEET or Picaridin , here are some non-toxic recipes for insect sprays using Young Living Essential Oils. It is a good practice to apply Melrose or Tea Tree to the soles of your feet frequently and to rub Young Living Insect Repellent on your skin in addition to using the sprays.  If you are in an area where there may be bees, do not use a recipe with lemongrass or Purification.

Did You Know:

Bees may be attracted to the smell of lemongrass. If bees will be around, use a recipe without Lemongrass or Purification.

You can add witch hazel to replace part of the water in these recipes if you desire.

Using a fan outdoors helps repel mosquitoes.

Bug Zappers are not recommended. They attract more mosquitoes into your yard and they kill more helpful insects than mosquitoes.

Apply these sprays often, at least every two hours.

Essential Oils purchased in stores often are most likely adulterated which increases the risk of an allergic reactions and results in less effectiveness. All these recipes were made with Young Living Essential Oils which are pure and potent.

Young Living has their own brand of  all natural bug repellent.

I like to add a bottle of Kunzea Essential Oil which comes from the Tick Bush to the Young Living Insect Repellent for extra protection.
